2008 Western Adventure
Day 4 - June 23, 2008 Today started off great, even though it was another late start. As you can tell by now, I'm not using my alarm clock to get up early. After all, I'm on vacation.
By the time I arrived in St Louis the sun was already very low. I rode around the city for a little bit and then headed to the outskirts to find a motel. I did drive by our old home and took a snap shot of it, but it was already getting dark. I found a nice Fairfield Inn not too far away. By the time I did some work and updated my travel website it was quit late and the bed felt especially good tonight. Tomorrow I' setting my sights on Minneapolis, MN, the place where I was born.

I was looking forward to a nice short ride
today. My target was St Louis, MO. We lived in St Louis
for 5 years in the late 70's so I was looking forward to checking
out some of our old haunts. Everything was going great until I
hit Illinois. There I really saw the effects of the recent
flooding. I had to backtrack several times because of flooded
out roads. Water was everywhere.
